I got curious because of the art style. Thought it was pretty good but nothing to yell about. I’d actually read this before, forgot, and then re-read it. I felt weird about the author adding in the pedophilia then and I still felt weird about it the second time around. It was given the weight and urgency it deserved, for sure, but was it gratuitous? Not all the time, but sometimes it really felt that way. Good premise and decent execution though. Very good tension-building and there were a lot of interesting moments between the main characters. I think the author captured boyhood attraction/attachment and loyalty and devotion really well!
The sequel could have been SO GOOD, but it ultimately proved to be meandering and underwhelming, so I dropped it.

forgive me if i will be rambling about this story in this review, i couldn’t help myself.
read this during the pandemic without any expectations whatsoever, but it absolutely blew my mind !! it has everything: the world-building, well thought out plot, interesting characters (shin soohyuk ilysm huhu), and a damn good satisfying ending. now, it is marketed as a romance but i love how it’s not all about that. instead, the romance was subtle but it clearly lingers all throughout the manhwa, and by the time some romantic scenes happen or even implied it had me squealing and swinging my feet while reading, now that’s some good slow burn. considering this was one of my first manhwas read, my expectations for the rest were never the same again haha !
this series has me locked in, waiting for more of the authors’ projects in the future.

I didn’t really know anything about this before going in but I ended up really enjoying it, I mean it was really upsetting to read and I was properly sobbing by the end but I enjoyed the story nonetheless.

The first season is REALLY good! The second season is also really good. After that, I started to lose interest. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and kept reading for a WHILE because I was so invested in the main love story, but the main couple rarely sees each other at this point and it's usually not a positive interaction when they do. I'm starting to just get frustrated with Shin's "I'm doing this for you (despite both of us suffering for it)" approach. I ran out of tokens on TappyToon, and I don't think it's worth buying more based on the hope that I'll care about the story again in the future.
I would definitely recommend everyone start reading it! I don't regret the initial investment at all! But just be willing to let it go when it stops being interesting. Not worth holding out like I tried to.
