Gives a lot more context and explains things that the movie only touched upon.

Love how everyone roasts West for being short and gay. As if he’s doing that on purpose.

On one hand it gave us Canadian Herbert West, Dan Cain being a bit of a freak, and some really nice personality dialogue for Meg early on. On the other hand, the POV was all over the place (I'd really like to know who's perspective I'm reading at each point), when the book changed movie dialogue it was generally made clunkier and more unnaturally written, and the entire thing lacks emotion -- you don't get to see into the minds of the characters as much as you should.
