a good book but not the type that I usually like to read. loved how well I could compare myself with the womanhood of Evelyn, even if she's so much beyond with everything, I loved how you could still compare yourself with her. sometimes I even forgot that there is a present time in the book besides her life, so it was a nice touch of reality when it happened. loved how that could make me grip the fact that I'm reading about someone "real" and see her as a person, not only a celebrity.

I feel like the foreshadowing of the plot twist made the twist fizzle out once revealed. It was so hyped that nothing would ever live up to it. I do think by the very end the author was able to turn it back around. I truly enjoyed the first 250 or so pages. I feel the description of the main character's experience as a woman of color was poorly written.

Didn’t expect the gay love story at the core of this book but was thoroughly impressed. Evelyn Hugo really said ‘gay rights’ 4🌈

I generally knew what I was getting into with this book, but what I didn't expect was how taken I was by the platonic love story versus the romantic love story. I was completely wrapped up in Evelyn and Harry's relationship and really became invested in them. That being said, the ending felt rushed and that's more where it loses a star for me, as well as with the lack of build for Monique's character. I felt very indifferent towards her by the end, which I felt isn't how I should feel about her.

Wow. I am sitting here, just finished with this book, and that’s all I can come up with. Wow.

What I would give to be able to read this book for the first time again. There was not a moment I wasn’t obsessed with these characters or this story. I felt their love, pain, and growth as if it was my own. It’s rare that when reading a book or listening to an audio file that I find myself in the room with the characters, but I felt like I was Evelyn’s friend just as much as Monique. There was not one part of this book left me wanting more. It felt real and raw.

I will definitely be reading this book again.

This book took my hand and ran. Although it is an incredibly hyped book, I really enjoyed the read as well as the
Spoilerbisexual representation!!
This is a book I'd recommend to my friends as an entertaining read.
