I was absolutely bored out of my mind with the meandering day to day of the Ramierez woman.

Man that was a tough read. I really like that it’s a portrait of this grieving family and how they picked up the pieces (or didn’t) once their sister/daughter went missing. It’s literary fiction before its a mystery, and I kind of like that here - lots of stories like this could and do focus on the victim and figuring out what happened to them, without necessarily thinking about how the family deals with the loss. I don’t think this was a very satisfying book but it felt real and sad. I liked the writing style and how (using this world again) real it was. All of the emotions and reactions that could happen to a family in this situation. I’d cautiously recommend it if you alter your expectations a bit.
