in my mind, the last chapter simply does not exist. for my own sanity, i shall pretend like i didn’t read it and i will only accept what happens once i carry on with the next book😌

Spoiler“i’ll see you in the next life, Bonded. maybe i can love right there.”
NOPE. NO THANK YOU. YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH THOSE TWO SENTENCES HAVE TORN ME APART. I’M ORGANISING MY OWN FUNERAL AS I SPEAK.

ughhhh these books. i keep thinking that at some point one of them is gonna disappoint but they never do. i think bc J. Bree has done such an incredible job at getting us to love and root for these characters, any issues with the books don’t even matter bc i’m just so invested in reading about these characters… i think at this point i’d read 100 pages about them just eating dinner🤷‍♀️

i actually love that i can’t just tell where each book is gonna go, especially knowing each one is gonna end on a cliffhanger. i mean, first Gabe’s big transformation? and then what happened in the last chapter? emotional whiplash for sure!

speaking of whiplash… going from a battle to an orgy certainly wasn’t in my expectations but good freaking lord, i need jesus. i would’ve liked all five of them to be participating, and certainly more group interaction but oh christ i very much enjoyed that👀

the list has changed a lot with this book. i adore each and every single one of Oli’s Bonds, but i keep forcing myself to rank them otherwise i’d never choose a favourite. so here it is after book 4:

1) Gryphon (will any of the others be able to move Gryph and his dirty mouth from the top spot? unlikely)
2) Gabe (HELLO?????!??!!? A MOTHERFUCKING DRAGON!??!???!??!!!?!!!)
3) North (i just love that he knows exactly what Oli needs and would literally die for her ugh)
4) Nox (we got CRUMBS from him and yet i’m living for them)
5) Atlas (don’t. someone’s gotta be at the bottom and it’s killing me to put him there😩)

While reading this book, I was thinking « Wah ! You’re going to have so much stuff to say about it, it’ll be awesome to do a quick review on it ». Now, I’m in lateral position on my couch, thinking about the meaning of life and trying to find a group therapy with people who also read this ending and are in the same state as I am. J. Bree, I thought we agreed on this and that we respected each other, that we knew there were boundaries not to be crossed, and yet… Here we are, moving across the border of one country after the next with this ending.

*Deep breath*

Well, to attempt to write something helpful… I loved that book. The character’s relationships are deepening and we are starting to have a better understanding of what’s going on. Seeing that there is normal human shit to deal with is also nice. I was starting to wonder if it would be like a Harry Potter situation here or not. We can also foresee a big nasty not friendly vilain in coming. But most of all, we get that everything is happening all over again and it feels like it’s a tragic story repeating itself over and over.
This book made me feel a lot of different emotions, I laughed, cried, drown in despair and bit my nails to the pulp. I don’t know when the next release will be and I’m almost afraid to look it out.

I highly recommend this reading, it’s definitely one of my most favorite of this year and one of the best RH that I’ve read, and by far !
