Very graphic but also one of the best books I’ve read this year. Would have felt much better about it  though if it was written by a Hispanic woman

The subject is so important, but the writing style is just so bad. I started skimming through the repetitive descriptions of scenery and explicit statements of what the characters were feeling just to make it go faster, and I still didn't feel like I missed anything important.
