Almost To Die For was a pretty quick read, although it ended in a rush. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book in the series

It was okay. It could've been better. It was short. I disliked the ending.

It was so rushed.
I though it was badly written by the author. IF she wanted to pick an intense storyline, then she shouldn't have rushed the story. Maybe made it a longer book/series. I do not even feel like finishing the series...which is why i went ahead and spoiled the ending for myself. I want to say that I am very disappointed.

i was really attracted to this book by the cover and the description and it really captured my attention and knew i had to read it. i didnt knoe what to expect and all but i really liked it. i couldnt stop reading it, it was so good. Anastasija Parker learns that her so-called deadbeat dad is actually a vampire king. And he wants Ana to assume her rightful position at his side, in spite of the fact that she has witch's blood running through her veins-from her mother's side. And her parent's are kinda fighting over each other hor ana to become full vampire or full witch. i think that this was an interesting story wit witches and vampires.

like the title says it is a cross between twilight and princess diaries. ive read one other vampire princess book so i was really interested in how they would go about this one and love it. if you like jessica's guide to dating on the dark side, and house of night series, you will love this book. this is really an ideal young adult book for me.

ana's love ineterests elias and nikolai, well, i didnt really like nikolai that much, he has such a huge hatred for vampires and i think that will cause some damage to ana's and his relationship, even before i knew all that about him, i didnt really feel a big connection between the two of them, they just dont fit as a couple to me. on the other hand, elias. i love elias, her vampire guard. i think that he is the perfect lover for our dhampair princess. he is very straightfoward and i just cant help but love him.

i hated her mother. i knoe that parents want what is best for their children and all but come on! she is just too controling and using magic against your child to control her b/c of what you think is best for her. no! that just isnt rite. i had great passionate hatred for this woman. i liked her father more than her mother and i want to find out more about the vampires in this series and more about her father and maybe a flashback on how everything happened before ana was born.

im really excited for the second book, i wanna knoe where they will take the story from here. b/c wit the ending i have a feeling the next book is gonna be even better than this one. i cant wait wait for the next one. this is my first introduction to one of tate hallaway's books and i plan to look into her other series and check them out.

Fue hace tanto, que aunque no fue lo mejor de lo mejor, terminó gustandome. No me terminó de convencer y tal vez por esa razón no seguí con la saga.

I don't know why I keep finding myself reading yet another YA urban fantasy & then complaining that it's *shock, horror* aimed at a YA market. But here I am again. I really like TW's Garnet Lacey series & I always enjoy her humour.... And this was a fun read - fun enough for me to go in & immediately read the next two in the series. Just a little, you know, YA.

I enjoyed this book. For as short as it was, it was an easy read, but not a very fast read. I'm happy about that. I enjoyed every bit of the story and really did not want the book to end. I am very curious to see where the series will go.

Now the real question is if I'm going to read the second book to the series.  I do find myself wanting to find out next what happens since Tate left us wanting to find out what is going to happen next to Ana and her Vampire lover (hint).  Wasn't expecting that to happen.  Poor Ana.  LOL
I will eventually get to the 2nd book, but it's not my priority to pick it up just yet.  I have too many books to read from Authors and my bookshelves at home.  I definitely will read other books from Tate though.  I'm glad I read a book from a New Author.  I'm always up for a New Author challenge.  =)
I recommend this book to anyone who loves YA and also loves something like Twilight, but somewhat different.  I recommend it to the readers who love "Love Triangles."

It started out promising but fell flat for me. I liked the way the author tried to play with the vampire lore though.

Anastasija Parker is turning sixteen, she would like to spend the night have a party with friends (well the two she has). However she comes from a long line of witches and tonight she has to go through her initiation into the coven. Despite her repeated rants that she does not carry the magic in her, her mother is certain she will be just fine.

Well, Ana can honestly say life has abruptly changed. Her father, who she didn't even know she had, shows up on her doorstep wanting her to come with him. Her mother is in absolute tizzy and wielding magic to banish him, if that was not enough her dad is a vampire. Ana is a mixed blood and finds herself torn between two sides. She also is finding out the boy she likes has a crush on her as well, but there is an attraction to her guard that she can't seem to forget as well. All Ana want to do is be a normal sixteen year old, but it looks like fate has other plans.

I thought this was very entertaining. I did have an issue with that Ana was so forgiving to her mom, I think I would rebel a bit over the betrayal of her dad. It was a little angsty with the two boys, but that is to be expected when you are torn between two worlds. I am rooting for Elias though.
