Five gays in the Nuuk community, somewhere in Greenland. One with their own struggle; on discovering they are queer, and behaving as the people around try to invalidate them before the "today" society.

Taught us on the beauty of love, loving and being loved. This book is alive with all the curses. One emotion for all the people in this novel: miserable.

Psssst! I really love the book cover that I actually made my purchase without even reading the synopsis at the back. Wise decision though. (I do judge a book by its cover)

Explores a multitude of interwoven queer identities in a small Greenlandic community. Each voice is uniquely beautiful and faces its own pain and joy. Short, fast read, worth an afternoon.

I would have appreciated this book more in my twenties. But it does not change that it is a smart meditation on youth, geography, sexuality and self-discovery.

I quite enjoyed this book! I actually liked the style of writing and I liked that there were multiple perspectives. I do wish the trans character was written better and had more in-depth development.

tried it but god I cannot comprehend the story with this writing style, the run-on sentences, the stream-of-consciousness, the little use of paragraphs - it's like a barrier I can't cross. So sadly it's a DNF.
