I started this book when I was in my early teens and for some reason I never finished it and for over 10 years I have been wondering how this book ends! Well I finally found it at my local library and thought I’d find out and I was not disappointed a lovely kids mystery book.

A nice little kids book. I was saddened to hear that the author had died of cancer aged 47 a few years ago :(

A good mystery about a disappearing boy. The story is told from the viewpoint of a boy with Autism. I found his thinking process to be very interesting. It seemed very authentic.

In a very similar vein to 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night' only for a slightly younger audience.
The MC and narrator of the story is on the spectrum and so sees the world from a different perspective that ends up helping him solve the mystery of his missing cousin.
Particularly neatly thought through is Ted's keen interest in the weather and how he uses it as a tool to interpret human emotions including his own.
The story unfolds at an efficient pace and the solution to the mystery is satisfying. I'll continue to recommend this to my year 5/6/7 students who have already read Wonder, Out of my Mind etc.
