Laura is a journalist and being sent off on a business trip to the Channel Islands for a story. But her suitcase is missing when she arrives and she ends up with someone else's. When she opens it, she is drawn into the contents, that includes a copy of her favourite novel and an item that is sentimental to her. Maybe the owner is Laura's dream man and she makes it her mission to try and find him. Meanwhile, she needs to deliver on this story and spends her time exploring the island where her parents met to retrace their love story. She meets a surly cab driver, Ted, who reluctantly agrees to ferry her around and a bunch of entertaining adventures unfold. Can Laura deliver the story and find her soul mate? You'll have to read it and find out.

While parts of this one were predictable, there were also some surprises in store and it was such a fun adventure. It was also touching and emotional in places, as the author unpacks the history of Laura's parents and new friend. Another delightful novel.

Thanks so much to Penguin Australia for this gifted review copy.

Most modern romances I’ve read recently have been so cheesy they make me sick. This one feels like just the right amount of cheesy, and feels very nostalgic for teen romcoms I used to read. It’s fast-paced and cute, and I love the dynamic of the love interests. I was surprised by how much I loved this random target find, but it was great.

This book punched all my love buttons. It was sweet and cute (meet cute!) and delightfully funny—I giggled aloud so many times I lost count, and it was genuine funny, not at the expense of a bumbling idiot character.

I didn’t like one of the main characters because he was too perfect, which is either two dimensional, slimily fake, or people-pleasing. Otherwise this book was a happy and welcome diversion.

3.75 rounded up. I really liked it in the beginning but it became too predictable which I usually don’t mind but I was kinda hoping for a little surprise.

It’s definitely a feel-good romance novel.

I really liked this! It was cute. A quick read, but light and happy. The book was structured well, with the perfect amount of background and details. This is the perfect beach book, or light read. It leaves you feeling happy the fictional world wasn’t messy and had a nice and tidy ending.
