This guide is laugh-out-loud funny! Before opening this book, I wasn’t sure how the Japanese humour of Gudetama would translate into English (whether it would work). But I think that Brian D Clark did a great job at projecting Gudetama and his sense of humour through the English language to an English-speaking audience! There are multiple sections in this book (such as how to get fit, conflict management, and speaking one’s mind) each of which Gudetama tries to guide readers to be the best (or laziest, haha) that they can be! I’ve been following Gudetama ever since Sanrio first announced him as a character, and I’m so happy to see that Penguin Random House is making books about him available here in North America! More Gudetama please!

Overall, this was really cute too. There was more substance than Eggsistential Thoughts, which I enjoyed. The humor that was used throughout was really entertaining and I really enjoyed the illustrations that were featured throughout. I really did relate so some of Gudetama's behavior. He's quite relatable for an egg.
