I could not put this book down! I was immediately hooked. You hit the ground running and don’t stop until the epilogue. It had me crying, gasping in shock, feeling hopeful, and made my blood boil—a full range of emotions. 

This story is not just about a mother and her son fleeing Mexico to escape a drug cartel. It’s a beautiful and heartbreaking story about the people they meet along the way—some who are genuine and good, and those who are not; and how difficult it is to trust anyone but herself and her son.
