This book is absolutely delightful. I love the premise of being nervous to give Valentine's, blessing other people's lives, and then being blessed in return. It's told in rhyme which is nice (especially as there are some "harder" words than might be expected in the picture book)

I think my favorite element, though, is the illustrations. They are soft and welcoming, just like Mirabel and all of the other characters she encounters.

Incredibly sweet tale of anxious Mirabel who learns that little acts of kindness go a long way towards forming friendships.

A sweet story told in verse for young children. They are all cuddly animals in the story. Mirabel has to make new friends at a school and she is shy. She is scared to give people Valentines. Still, she makes her Valentines for classmates and heads off to school.

On the way, the Valentines fall out of her bag and people find them as she goes by. The cards brighten the townpeople’s day. Mirabel gets to school and has no Valentines. She is upset. The artwork is sweet to go with the story. I thought this was a cute story with lots of ‘heart’ haha.

The nephew wasn’t too keen on this. There wasn’t enough humor or robots for him. He gave it a grudging 2 stars. The niece thought this was much cuter and she gave this 3 stars too. They have different scales. I think the book is geared more for the young and girls than for 5 year old rough boys.
