This is the third book in the Never After series. Just a reminder that these books aren't connected and can be read in any order

I really enjoyed this read! I felt that the story stayed true to the characters and the conflict was real, whereas a lot of dark romances I find stray from the characters and negative traits established from the beginning to make them easier to love by the end, and the conflict is minimal at best. BUT NOT THIS BOOK! I had a lot of fun reading it, I loved the two MCs and I wanted them together. A booktok rec I actually liked, shocking!

This book was really close to a DNF. Found it to be slow to get into, and tough to grasp who was on what side. Started to pick up in the middle, and by the time it was over I thought it was okay, but just happy I can move on to the next one.

I liked the subtle nods to The Wizard of Oz, and I’m finding I enjoy the “villain finds love” trope. Experienced as an audiobook, and the dual narration was pleasant. But at the end of the day, this is so far my least favorite of the Never After Series.
