I appreciated Emily McIntryre’s ability to retell a classic. She finds ways to fit in little details of the original, which makes it kind of like and Easter egg hunt.

Wretched has a Wizard of Oz spin and I enjoyed Evelina as the villain. She's been running her father's drug empire, but been given little credit for it. A one-night encounter with a very sexy man who then shows up as her father's right-hand man, leaves her with a lot of questions.
There's no love lost between the Westerly family, but they'll stop at nothing to have each other's backs. At least that's what Eveline thought. Until it was her back on the line.
Definitely enjoyed the characters in this one, the tension between Evelina and Daddy's new pet boy, and all the twists and turns.

I am so excited to read more by Emily Mcintire! This book was such a wild (and fun) ride! The twists and turns kept me guessing about what would happen next; and even with all the suspense keeping me on the edge of my seat, Emily always seems to deliver on the most satisfying endings. If you haven't read anything by her yet, you're missing out!

Perfect for fans of Criminal Minds, Law & Order, maybe a sprinkle of Scandal/How to Get Away with Murder ✨

I loved this so much more than the previous two entries in the series. Eveline was such a charismatic lead and oh man Nicholas was just *chef's kiss*. Bonus points for some of the most unhinged smut i've read in a hot minute. Super dark and high-key fucked up, but dark romance girlies will vibe on it.

I almost didn't read this book because the second book was so bad that I thought I was done with this series. Well, I'm happy I decided to give it a chance.

This time, and for a change of pace, the villain if a woman. I don't know, this probably is not right, but I'm not mad about the things she has done. Girl power, you know? Girls defend girls! Of course you can dissolve your family members in acid... who doesn't? Yes, she is completely crazy, but I like her.

Anyway, good story, good plot, well written characters with good, solid, backgrounds and the ending that these characters deserved. Nicely done!

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶 (Gun Scene?)
Stars: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I am in love with this series and Emily McIntire's books.

I read Wretched first because it was the only book in the series I had at the time.
When I was finished, I went and bought the rest in the series.

I LOVED Wretched. It slapped me in the face with its goodness, and what did I just read-ness!
I love the woman villain perspective, and she is just such a bad babe!

I've never read anything like it, although I am just getting back on the reading bandwagon this year.
This book & series is certainly helping keep me on the wagon.

I like that the romance wasted no time, and got right into it.

Since reading Wretched, I've finished Hooked, Scarred, Twisted, and on Crossed Now.

Wretched still has my heart as favorite! Can't wait for Hexed! Can it be here already!?
