Expected it to be a little melodramatic and trite, as I used to find the film, but despite how often he cries, it really isn’t. It was honestly a really evocative novel that deserves its hype.

Incredible read. I can’t remember the last time I read a book that felt so easy to read, that I felt so at home reading that I always had it on my mind. Really beautiful and poignant and real. It felt like I was there with this kid and the end note with the “extra letter” had tears dripping down my face instantly. Absolutely beautiful book

A beautiful but emotional read. Deals with heavy topics, but hearing Charlie’s thoughts and experience coming to understand some difficult things about himself and his past is so well done.

I just knew this book was going to have a high rating and I was right. This book was triggering for me for so many reasons. This book depresses me every time I think about it, and it is thanks to this book that I know to skip the movie. Young adult - realistic fiction - coming-of-age stories are definitely not my thing.

this book was good, made me very emotional cause I relate to it and the epilogue talking about the hospital really did envision what it feels like to be a psych patient.
