Trigger warnings:
3,5 stars.
This book was one hell of a rollercoaster! It's fast-paced and there's no time to get bored. I really enjoyed the concept, the characters and friendships, but it also felt a bit... messy, at times.
Full review coming soon on the blog! :)
Thank you to the publisher for sending me an e-ARC via Edelweiss. This did not, in any way, influence my thoughts and rating.

I definitely wasn’t expecting those turn of events! I loved that the MC is a queer autistic teenager who lives in NY and attends a private school with a scholarship. Her character was amazing and I wish I could keep reading about her!
She tutors some of the wealthier students and one of them allows her to attend a masked ball in her place for a once in a lifetime chance to feel like Cinderella.
The party is when everything goes askew and I can’t say much without giving it away, so you just need to read it for yourself!

Waverly needs to be the best so that she can provide for her family. Thats easier said than done when you go to the prestigious Webber Academy. She may finally have an allie with popular girl she jumps at the chance to trade places. Looking behind the curtain may cost her life. This is the Way the World Ends contains all the stereotypic cliches in all the wrong ways. From using a disability and sexuality as the only traits for a main character to not giving the secondary characters any depth. Every attribute felt as if t was meant to check a box and not given in authenticity. There was no chemistry or organic flow to the story and everything felt forced. The ending will ony frustrate the reading because the journey was not worth the ending.

I only finished this book because
1. It was a fast read
2. It was less than 300 pages
3. I had a special gummy while reading, and found it quite funny by the end.
Even under the influence of a mood altering substance I was unable to suspend enough belief to buy this one.
Added the half star for the diversity rep.

This book was a crazy ride at first I didn’t get how we were going to get to the end of the world. It seem to be just another story about some under privileged kid going to a private school, but that ending save this story for me. We get to see our main character go from a rule follower to someone who will take on the world over all for me it a three star read personally

This is a great read. Innovative, different, and absolutely attention grabbing. This story explores themes of young love, friendships, social bullying and the end of the world.
What happens when Cinderella finally makes it to the ball, but the ball ends up being the point of no return? The end of the world is unleashed and unlikely friends and alliances must be depended upon for survival in a place of secrets and agendas that are too deep to fully understand.
This is the Way the World Ends is an epic adventure of all sorts. Worth the read and worth the re-read.

Wow this book is so so good. Its amazing. I want book #2. I mean we have to have another book right? You can't leave us hanging with that ending. The twist I didn't see coming. I mean maybe I should have I don't know. With Waverly she is just great, all she wants to do is help her mother out, by going to this school it will help her get into pre med. Which is her goal. Falling for Ash wasn't part of that goal. But she does and when Ash leaves without a word... That is just the start of things. Waverly has two best friends whom I just love. Their little group makes up of Frank and Pari and Waverly. All are different in one way or another. But that is what is so great about them, they could care less really. But Waverly gets a chance to see Ash again when Caroline says hey take my place at the ball. Caroline is pretty popular and very rich.
But she seems to be very friendly with everyone. But at this ball is where it all goes down. This book is not to be missed. A definite must read.
