As a Brian K Vaughan fan I was hoping for more from this collection than a cheeky spy romp. That said, it is a solid if not spectacular story that never looses it's quick pace but the main character's even minor evolution by the end of the 13 collected issues seems a little contrived.

I just want her queer-ness more visible. I'd really say 3 1/2 stars, but I don't want to round down to 3.

This felt like Vaughn getting lazy. It definitely lacked the depth of his other projects (ie: Ex Machina, Y: The Last Man) and felt very basic and structured. There were some elements introduced to attempt to spice up the very simplistic "secret agent doing secret agent missions... but being a mutant while doing it!" story structures, such as the mysterious person trying to convert Mystique to being a double agent. However, by the end of the volume (and Vaughn's run on the title), this plot line gets nowhere and just gives the whole volume an unfinished, unpolished feel.
