This was a surprise in all the best ways! A sapphic detective solving a case involving magic, demons and angels? Count me in.
The plot was intricate and well planned, I was hooked from the very first page. The characters were multi-dimensional and as the story progressed, a web of interactions and bargains was revealed step by step, uncovering a complicated scheme. The sapphic romance was beautifully interwoven into the whole thing.

A short storytelling that blends noir edge and charm - angels, demons and a wish to survive with the one you love. Not my usual cup of tea story-wise but I enjoyed it a lot all the same. Wish it was longer!

A good, quick read.

Probably won’t be revisiting this one, but I likely will check out other works from this author.

I didn’t know I needed a supernatural noir sapphic detective story until I read this in one sitting. I wish it was longer!

Ooh, I loved this. 4.5 for now but I could see it being a 5 stars on a re-read.

It was trying to be too many things. Angels and demons and a mystery and gay and noir? Too much.

This book had a great premise, I felt the first 15 pages were a bit slow but it picked up quickly. I found I couldn’t put it down for the other 115 pages. It was a quick read but it didn’t feel rushed. Overall a solid book.
