I enjoyed it as I really love DdM's writing however (1) there is basically no plot, it's just about this spoilt and unlikeable set of people and (2) what is with Niall and Maria's relationship?!

The beginnings of du Maurier's novels are so good that I'm always disappointed by the ending. I can't decide if this is a good or bad thing.

I can’t pin down my feelings about duMaurier. I like her books and I don’t like them. I find them both compelling and boring, pointless and meaningful.

Best as I can tell, if you like duMaurier, you’ll like this book. If you don’t, you won’t.

What a bunch of despicable people, the title is quite fitting. I enjoyed the flashbacks to moments that shaped their character, but the jumping between povs was sometimes confusing as well. The characters in general are absolutely aggrevating, selfish, and raise little sympathy with the reader, albeit one can understand the developments and how they turned out as such. The ending seems true to character, too.
