I enjoyed a lot of this book. However, it was quite slow-moving and I reached a point where I realised the end was near and there wasn’t nearly enough book for anything to really happen. The ending left me feeling a little deflated and underwhelmed. I like a good cliffhanger, but it wasn’t even that; it just ended too soon without enough really happening. Good premise, decent enough read, just all read like a lead into something bigger which didn’t happen.

Hauntingly Beautiful. An amazing read to start off October and probably the book I can credit for pulling me from a reading slump. We love to see V.E Schwab in this house.

This book felt so slow. I kept getting distracted from the story and when I got refocused it felt like nothing had happened. I was at 55%-ish and it felt like nothing had changed from when I first started listening. There was a ton of description and I didn’t get to know the characters. I like Schwab and am glad she keeps writing.
