This is a review for the 2nd time I’m reading this book.

Up until about 50% I was lowkey bored and just waiting for something to happen. I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t as good as I remembered. However, after that things finally started happening and I loved it.
I really liked all the characters especially Vivi. Jude adapts quickly which is nice and is a very strong character.
As for Cardan, I never hated him? He’s more of a bystander than active in Jude’s … misfortunes. His admission as to why he hates her was so funny TT

Overall I was very surprised that I liked this book so much and I’m glad I stuck with it (even if it was just to get it off my kindle at first) I would recommend it and I can see why it is so loved.

Well, I didn't think I was gonna like it but here I am, giving 4 stars.

I really enjoyed the world building and multiple descriptions of landscapes and creatures. This world building is great and full of details.
Cardan is a great character, I wanna know more about is backstory. He seems like a complex character and, even though I wasn't fond of his relationship with Jude, I kinda like how they grow closer and how she's able to trick him.
Jude is a badass, I like that about her. Sometime through the story I had trouble understanding her, but she grew on me at the end of the book. Wanna see more about her too.

Not gonna lie, I began the book thinking I was going to hate it, because of the title and people saying it was more a romance, but damn, I loved the political background – well not really background since it's like the point of the story – it was so much interesting !

It's not my best reading of 2021, but it was a great introduction into this trilogy, and into fantasy for those who want to try this genre, not too cliché either.

I loved this book, the plot is interesting and the slow burn between jude and cardan is stunning but sometimes I was kinda confused with the names of the characters and their stories. Apart from that, the book was amazing! :)

1st session: 14/04-15/04 (4 stars)
2nd session: 7/07 (4 stars)

I really enjoyed the writing style. The book had beautiful descriptions and details about the world building but also what the main character was thinking.
Spoiler I was a little confused about the one time the protagonist talked to the reader but yet fooled us too at the end. Despite understanding that Cardan was not the main bully, he was, however, a bystander. Him and Jude being the about to be romantic partners, not sure if I like that. Bully to Lovers should not be a thing.

Overall, a well written book.

Can’t begin to express how thankful I am that I did this re-read! The first time I read the physical copy and this time I listened to the audiobook, which was really good. I loved this book even more the second time around. I’m so incredibly ready for The Wicked King!! January 8th where ya at??
