3.5 ⭐️ The characters are what keep me coming back to this series. With their rich back stories, jovial relationships and endearing personalities, they paint a charming microcosm of village life - albeit one with a sprinkle of mystery, murder and mayhem. The plot of this particular book, however, was a bit ‘plodding’ for me. I found myself bored at times by the lack of action, and while the resolution was satisfying, it seemed a while coming. But I’ll probably pick up the next instalment before long.
