I was conflicted with this book. I really enjoyed the pacing. The issue I had was with the revenge aspect. That's just not my thing, but I was sucked in despite my concerns about the characters getting even or getting caught or any number of things that I won't say because I don't like spoiling books for others.

The switching of the voices doesn't always work, but it did here. It was helpful to get different points of view on the situations. I am curious to know where the story goes from here so I will likely continue the series.

I was glad to have this with me on a long car trip. It definitely helped to pass the time nicely.

Lillia, Mary e Kat sofreram disso.

Adorei a vontade, a confiança e a amizade deste trio maravilhoso.

I'm not really sure how to explain my feelings about this book.

There were a lot of aspects that I liked, but some that I didn't really like at all.

I really like Jenny Han's writing style and that really came through..but.. I don't know. I liked this book (obviously I gave it a 4 star rating, but I'm already doubting myself thinking it may be closer to 3.5 stars?

I enjoyed that these girls are trying to get their revenge because these characters definitely had it coming to them. I didn't exactly end this book feeling as good about it as I did during the first half though, ya know? Something felt like it was missing. I didn't really like the random paranormal thing that happened. It just seemed very out of place. I don't know. I hate that it ended on a cliff hanger, but I know there's going to be at least two other books after this one so I'm not really worried about that.

This book was very interesting because it read like a fairly light contemporary, but it touched on some pretty deep issues. Suicide, bullying, drug use, date rape, etc.

I would like to continue on with the series and see how it goes, but this definitely isn't a new favorite nor is it as good as the last book I read by Jenny Han, To All the Boys I've Loved Before. Now THAT was an amazing book!

*SPOILER GALORE*
I started this book off reluctantly. Usually, I am most definitely a scaredy cat, skimming through parts of books that get too dramatic or intense for my comfort. Thus, a storyline centered around revenge? Definitely out of my comfort zone... But Jenny Han? How could I say no.

Jar Island is basically a contained paradise that turns to hell. "Paradise" may be a little too over the top, but the island is full of beautiful, rich kids and the drama they create in all their glory.

I read most of the book cringing, but in a good way. The girls' motives for revenge were either centered on misunderstanding or a one-sided story.... And the book really showed that no revenge is easy, because even the worst people have these lovable, human aspects to them you can't erase in spite of all their flaws.

I loved the ending though. It was horrible, and I was speed reading faster than ever, but it ended in a frenzy of chaos that fits the nasty twist that revenge inevitably brings around.
