This book is so very Werner Herzog that I feel confident in saying that if you like his films you'll like this book and if you don't like his films you won't like this book until you come to understand his genius. And if you're not familiar with his films and want to know whether you would like this book, go to a bookstore, find a copy, and read the last page. It won't tell you much about the book other than whether you appreciate the mind that wrote it. You have a universe before you: go forth and devour it.

WHY did Herzog feel the need to publish this very underdeveloped first draft that fictionalises the life of a Japanese fascist he met once ?¿

Enjoyable short story, does a good job at putting some more light onto the whole situation and how it ended up happening. Could have been more detailed
