The beginning of this was really boring and I was really confused for about 10 chapters and not even about the science stuff. I felt like the “enemies” thing didn’t really make any sense and I also felt like Bee kept trying to force her wrong opinion down my throat. However I thought that it was sweet that he fell first and I felt so bad for him that she remained convinced that he hated her despite him explicitly saying on multiple different occasions that he didn’t. Her obtuseness really frustrated me a lot while reading.
Spoiler
I also thought the gun thing was doing a bit too much. It really wasn’t necessary. And the ending and makeup seemed very rushed.Graphic: Death, Sexual content, Death of parent, and Gun violence

As with The Love Hypothesis, this book is spicy and does have graphically described sexual content. It also takes place in a male dominated setting with a female protagonist which does lead to sexism and misogyny. The rest of the content warnings require some spoilers:Spoiler
Early in the book it is mentioned that Bee's parents died in a car accident when she was little, but it wasn't lingered on. When we meet Levi's parents we find that they are very emotionally abusive. We also find out the Bee's previous fiancé had cheated on her repeatedly. Finally, the last content warnings refer to a scene late in the book where the MCs are being threatened at gunpoint and one of the MCs attempts to take down their attacker.yvo_about_books's review against another edition

WARNING: unpopular opinion ahead!!
I guess I got a two-for-one unpopular opinion deal this week... Sigh. I've decided to just leave this author be in the future. Don't get me wrong, I did love The Love Hypothesis, but I'm starting to think it might just be a one-hit wonder. I absolutely hated the one STEM novella I tried, and sadly this book wasn't much better. I did like the fact that there was more science this time around, and I loved the NASA setting and the whole BLINK project. I even liked the random Marie Curie facts, and some of the banter was good. BUT. There were also too many things I just couldn't get past. I mean, what's up with the author's obsession with pairing up tiny women with huge men? And what did we do wrong to deserve having to deal with her repeating this a kazillion times?!?! I've lost count of the times Bee was referred to as tiny and everything about Levi as huge... It was getting so annoying that I was close to throwing my kindle against the wall. And then I'm not even talking about the absolutely cringeworthy smut... 'You'll get used to it.' *shudders* Someone please pour bleach in my eyes! Of course I'm never a fan of sexy scenes in the first place, but somehow this book was particularly torturous for me. I also felt that the story was way too similar to The Love Hypothesis in general, and the enemy-to-lover vibe just wasn't there for me. I mean, it's basically Levi saying just one sentence to Bee to clear everything up (although Bee is so stubborn and immature she probably still doesn't 'get' it). And while I did like the whole secret Twitter angle, it was SO obvious who she was really talking with... And the reveal who was behind the problems with the project came as no surprise either. I guess it's obvious Love On The Brain and me REALLY didn't get along, and I've come to the conclusion that this author clearly isn't for me after all.
