I definitely enjoyed Love Hypothesis more. The writing in this story was hard for me to follow. Bee’s character was adorable and a total badass. I loved her background and her admiration for the female scientists she referenced through the book. For the record, the romance was SO different from the first book. Maybe even better!

What can I say, I’m a sucker for Ali Hazelwood and her “STEMinist” novels. This is thoroughly cute and enjoyable. We do fall into the typical Hazelwood trap of “he’s SO HUGE” and “she’s so small” but at this point I’m used to it, it’s clearly her thing. The characters are quirky and I love them all, but Rocio stole my heart. I imagine her to be a scientist version of Aubrey Plaza.

Now, I’ll say my same critique that I’ve said about nearly everything she’s written: I do not and will not ever understand why she feels the need to write about choosing unsafe sex. And this is in EVERY BOOK she writes. Not a single condom in sight. Not a single conversation about being tested. These people are scientists! It’s fiction, so whatever, but normalizing the “it’s okay, I’m on birth control” narrative is harmful. I’ll get off my soapbox now.

Amazing Ali Hazelwood is iconic and now a must read author for me. I love her books and how they focus on women in STEM. Love on the brain was amazing, Bee and Levi’s relationship from enemies to lovers immaculate and that plot twist oh my gosh I was so stressed while reading that
Spoiler like dang it was Guy and when he had the gun like it was legit gonna kill her if it was for Féliciette.
It was written so wonderfully and I can’t wait to read her next book. 10/10 recommend

This book was ok, idk. The ending was kind of predictable and it kind of just felt like nothing was happening the whole time. The twitter stuff was really corny.

I think I have to agree with a lot of other reviewers. This has too many similarities to the author's first novel, The Love Hypothesis. I appreciate her writing about women in STEM, but unfortunately, the main character in this book doesn't seem like a strong, independent woman anywhere but the lab. There were still enough plot differences to make for a fun read, though comparatively speaking, the differences in characters and their backstories, overall plot, and elements of romance and mystery seemed underdeveloped and made this less interesting

Ah, I really needed a romance read! Was it revolutionary? No. But it was entertaining as hell! I gotta love anyone that loves Marie Curie, aka one of my middle-school heroines, this much. And all the kitties!!
