was it as good as TLH? no.
did i still have fun? yes!

i had trouble getting into this book, especially since the switch from 3rd to 1st person through me completely off guard. furthermore, bee is kinda whiny. but i LOVED her and levi.

idc how many times ali hazelwood writes similar STEM romances - i will enjoy every single one. it is her niche and her charm, for sure.

I am a bit disappointed with this book.  I will say that in the beginning I felt the writing was engaging and interesting. That being said, about half way through the story the book became more about physical attraction and sex than the actual plot.  It was bad enough I found myself skimming through chapters looking for the plot to start up again.  Unfortunately, the book never really picked up again and I ended up forcing myself to finish.  This makes me sad because it started off so well.

She just keeps getting better!! This novel, though still cheesy at times, was 100x better than The Love Hypothesis, IMHO.

The main characters were lovable, quirky, and realistic. The plot was somewhat tropey but to its advantage. Hazelwood’s writing style is so fun, and it’s easy to be along for the ride. Can’t wait to see what she cooks up next!

this book is basically 'the love hypothesis', but in a different (and more annoying) font. the marie curie trivia was a nice touch at the beginning, but there were times throughout the book where I felt it was excessive. same goes for the millenial humour and pop culture references...

bee had a super interesting profession, so it was nice to see her...actually doing science-y sh*t (this is something i feel was lacking in tlh). however, i found it hard to believe that she would be so...dumb in other aspects of her life? from self deprecation to the way she dragged out the jokes about levi hating her, she was a cringey character and i hated to see her put herself down repeatedly :(

levi felt very flat, but i will say, he and bee had great chemistry. awkwardness and overemphasis on size-difference aside, the sex scenes were hot idk

the entire third act was kind of a mess, and the reveal of the antagonist completely changed the tone of the whole book. after that, it was hard to get back into the groove of the story. yet, i'm still willing to give 'love, theoretically' a chance. if i don't like it, it may just be a sign that ali hazelwood's work isn't for me.
