What I really liked about this installment of the Sword of Truth series is the added perspectives of the other characters, aside from Richard, Kahlan and Zedd. To be honest, sometimes I was more eager to read about their shenanigans, than about the main trio, I really liked the dynamics between these additional characters and their stories were fascinating. There were a lot of funny and sweet moments, sprinkled throughout the story, which was dark in its core. What I didn't like is how Richard successfully uses his power to "save the day", not even knowing what or how is he doing it, and it is simply explained as "he can do it, because he has an instinct". Which, personally, wasn't satisfying to me. (The same problem I had with the ending of the previous book). And another thing that irkes me about every book of the series I read so far is constant sexual violence against woman, as a woman myself it is hard to read sometimes.
Moderate: Rape, Violence, and Kidnapping
