This is a fun, quick read. I read Kill Joy after A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, and it was really interesting picking up on the little Easter eggs in the prequel! The audiobook runs the exact length of the game in the novella, which is a fun tidbit.

There's also a really good depiction of the fear of the dark and the unsettling feeling of being seen by someone/something unseen.

SpoilerIt's unsettling to see Elliott interacting with the kids, knowing what he's done. It's funny that Ravi was actually the inspiration for the incept on of Pip's capstone, after his joke at the end of the first book.

I haven’t read A Good Girls Guide To Murder yet (this had no spoilers for that yay) since I don’t usually like mysteries but the characters and Pip especially are so intriguing and nuanced in this book that I’m feeling more hopeful towards the mystery aspect of A Good Girls Guide To Murder. Dare I say Kill Joy was even cozy at times??

This prequel gave an insight into when Pip's mind started working the way it does since the beginning of the AGGGTM series. Plus it was a fun read, with a nice plot twist and a lead into how Pip decided to take up the Andie Bell case as her EPQ topic.
