New character in the “family”. Ms. Marvel is a 16 year old Pakistani-American girl who discovers her power after a weird fog in Jersey City. Great drawings and sensations.

I loved the characters, but didn't really love the story so far.

Ms. Marvel is the superhero I've been anxiously awaiting since the first time I realized the importance of representation. Kamala Khan is the kind of character I want to see in everything. She's imperfect--a little rebellious, a little anxious, a little obsessed with video games and fanfiction, and a little quick to anger--but she values her friends and family, she is motivated by a strong moral code, and she's also strong and smart and funny.
And since Ms. Marvel features a superhero who is a teenager, a woman of color, and the daughter of immigrants, the series is able to explore complex, societal issues in an interesting, empowering, and engaging way.

This was my first true comic book, and it was an enjoyable experience! I liked the message of the story and that it's from a young, Muslim girl's perspective. I'll read more when I get the chance!

This was all right! I like Kamala's character arc in this and the message of embracing yourself and your culture, but the characterization, especially the dialogue, felt lacking. In particular, the constant italicisation in the dialogue was very distracting.

A great view at some 'normal' people in the Marvel Universe as one of them undergoes a transformation and becomes superhuman. The fact that she's a person of color and a Muslim makes it even better.
Looking forward to reading the other volumes that are out there.

I'm glad I finally picked this one up. Ms.Marvel isn't one of my favorite Marvel heroes but this reboot of her character was refreshing and exciting.

Ms. Marvel is such a great character. She's likeable, deep and just a joy to read. This whole series is wonderful and has introduced me to a quote I love: "Good is not a thing you are, it's a thing you do."

It was nice. I really liked that the superhero wasn't a stereotypical white American girl. I'm a bit confused about the shapeshifting part of her powers.
