This book was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I also want to disclose that I've been an enthusiastic participant in StoryADay May for several years, although I've never read the ebook for it before. I may have uttered an undignified squee when offered a review copy of this book :)

Ms. Duffy posts prompts and encouragement each day during May to support anyone interested in attempting to write a story every day. The prompts are designed to teach you about the craft of writing, and your own writing strengths, as you follow them. Reading the book as a whole showcases the care that's gone into the process. By following the daily, achievable writing goals, you engage with writing advice instead of just reading it. The book is a writer's guild to learning by doing. The practice can help anyone from the rank beginner to the experienced writer developing and growing as an author.

The book also functions as a private writing coach, someone who pushes you gently to do more than you might think you can. Ms. Duffy understands what you're likely to experience on your writing journey, and understands that every writer is an individual with different needs, preferences, and abilities. The support offered can be as valuable as the potential learning from following the prompts.

I strongly recommend this book to anyone interested in exploring writing!
