Such a beautiful atlas for kids (and grown ups). I will enjoy looking at this with Catherine as she learns about the world. My only complaint is that there are no Central American maps (pointed out to me by someone who has travelled to and loves CA).

Basically a modern take on an old-fashioned atlas. Very nice and very cool. And quickly out of date, but not too much. Very cool and very pretty.

This is basically a surface map with a lot of choices made. And yet I definitely caught tidbits of geography that I had previously missed, and really I probably won't maintain.

But who doesn't like a map?

Basically a fun for all ages map book.

I love maps, maps and more maps. I could look at maps all day and all night. The bathroom in my studio was papered with maps and I wrap both gifts and sales from my Etsy shop in old maps. This is a book to have and to hold.

Amazing.

Disclaimer : as a history and geography teacher, I was already pretty sold on this book.
However, it's 10 times better than the "good" I was expecting. It's beautiful and it's smart and I learned about some ruby-red cherries to top my slight stale masters-degree cake.
Gift it to your daughters, your sons, your nieces and and friends. To your open or uneducated family members. To all of you who like the world and whom the world likes.

5 planet-illuminating stars.

A gorgeous map book. Only thing that is missing is more maps – after all, the book only covers 52 countries. Many interesting countries are still without a map. This is a treasure trove for children interested in the world. Well done.

Mesmerizing, celebratory, and creative. Hardly any text and I couldn't take my eyes off it. "Ages 7-10" is an outright lie. Great way to get to know the world whether you like to read or not.

An overwhelmingly complex and pleasantly illustrated book that would require multiple, multiple sittings to fully embrace and understand.

This was a selection for the Butler Center's Mock CaldeNott - considering only picture books for children published outside the United States. Even though I wasn't able to attend the discussion, I got hold of all ten of the shortlisted books and quickly devoured them.
