Mrs. Pollifax accompanies young Kadi back to Ubangiba for Sammat's impending crowning as the new King. Despite Sammat's hard work and great successes, rumors abound that he is an evil sorcerer.

Then, a series of lion murders take place - but there are no lions in Ubangiba!

Another African adventure for Mrs. Pollifax.

The farther I get into this series, the more irritated I get with Mrs. Pollifax. And, actually, all characters seem to become caricatures. I'm giving up on Mrs. Pollifax binge reading for awhile - three books left to go, and maybe I'll finish the series sometime this year.

Mrs. Pollifax is accompanying Kadi on her trip back home to Ubangiba. She's just a tourist coming to visit a friend, this should be simple, but of course, nothing is simple. Someone has resurrected an old legend about men who dress as a lion to kill and has been taking out a number of men.

This is a direct sequel to the previous book and, although it can be enjoyed without having read book 11, you still want to read 11 first.

(probably one of the weaker books in the series, but I am such a completest)

This one takes place in a fictional African country. That made it a little difficult for me to engage with because normally, she is traveling in a real place and you get to read about the actual customs and people there.
