This is a bouncy rhyming book that offers examples of many different shapes. The examples are often part of Latin@ culture and are usually fun. It does include a glossary of the Spanish words used in the text in case a reader is not certain about the meaning though usually the illustrations assist with that. This will be a concept book that will be great to use in the primary grades. I can't wait to share it.

I've read this a number of times over the last couple of years of storytime-ing but I've never entered it into Goodreads until now. I read it in Storytime today and I still love this book, especially its art. It's great for introducing Spanish vocabulary to a mainly English-speaking audience. Also, shapes!

This book shows all different kinds of shapes and were to find them featuring Spanish words and rhyme.

I love the illustrations and the text is simple and effective.

Rhyming about shapes in Spanish and English, beautiful colors and rich illustrations in a sort of retablo style.

Strengths - There is use of some Spanish words and pictures that depict cultural events. The text is rhyming and rhythmic so easy to read aloud. The back has a glossary that defines the Spanish words.

Weaknesses - The author is not Latinx but the illustrator John Parra is Latinx.

This bilingual book focuses on shapes and tries to be interactive but I preferred [b:Green Is a Chile Pepper: A Book of Colors|18296043|Green Is a Chile Pepper A Book of Colors|Roseanne Thong|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1381797115l/18296043._SX50_.jpg|25778929].
