This book has two things I don't really like in books: the past being a large part of the story and a novel or story being written by a character and told within the story. These two things usually take me out of the story and they made this book a little disappointing for me. I thought the characters were interesting but definitely not really likable, except Callie. The twists were decent. I just got a little bored and I was disappointed that the characters we were presented with didn't really go anywhere in the present. 
The story the main character writes is also a little cringey and I didn't enjoy those parts. 

Not my favorite but, it was interesting enough to finish.

Quite enjoyed this. The twists and turns kept me interested along with the sister dynamic. Will def be checking out more from the author. 
If you choose to listen to audio with the ebook, just a heads-up some wording is different from each other. Minor differences but could potentially throw someone off

This book moved a little too slow for my taste. It took too long to for the story to build up and focused too much on the back story rather than dealing with the actual problem/mystery of the book. The ending felt rushed, especially after taking so long to build up to it, and it didn’t feel like it flowed with the rest of the story.

I'm not sure what I can say here that hasn't been said better in other reviews, but I'm glad I read this one.  It's quite thought-provoking and dark, and it weighs pretty heavy, all things considered. I'd guessed a lot of the twists early on but that's not a bad thing. This isn't one I'm sure I'll keep, but it was compulsively readable.

This book will hit hard for anyone who has a sibling (especially sisters) and suffers from generational trauma.
