A gripping thriller with an excellent main character. I loved the twists and turns in this one - first class Nicci French stuff. The ending is brilliant, and that last page very poignant indeed. The only thing I hated was the title - it's awful! It should have been called "Without You" as the TV series was. Apart from that, very good indeed.

Such a pleasant surprise. It was much more than a simple mystery. I can't say that the twist was unexpected because I had suspicions pretty early on, but it was more about the journey than the twist for me, so I didn't mind it. The writing was simple, but not simplistic.

There was a little mishap in the last chapter that I wish editing had caught, but it's not enough to make me want to lower the rating.

"I used to think he had done that to me--discovered a version of myself that only existed when I was with him and that had disappeared when he had died."

This book really REALLY dragged on. I usually love this author duo but not this time. This book was difficult to get into then I just wanted the entire disaster to end.
