I found the translation a little strange. It's written in a vivid present, but the surrounding tenses are rather awkward: from the translator's introduction this seems to be a deliberate attempt to reflect the Icelandic, but not reading Icelandic I don't know how successful that is. I'd like to read another translation, too. The saga's great, though.
