greatly intriguing to see how du maurier’s style developed from her juvenillia. i’m glad i read this as a teenager. a lot of her angst and commentary on female and male relationships resonated with me profoundly.

Man merkt dass es eins ihrer frühen Werke war. Als Nachtlektüre ganz nett aber das Ende zementiert ein Fragezeichen in mein Gesicht.
