Truly amazing second book in a series! The beginning was quite sad for my taste and went ion for quite a while but towards the middle it was much better and the ending was incredible!

I mean, I get it, it comes with the genre, but like GIRL. I know she’s young and “in love” but she is BLIND. Literally she “never saw the warning signs” (taylor swift - exile). It’s almost painful to see her pine over a guy who doesn’t really care about her, while she ignores someone that would be so good to her, and who actually likes her. All I’m saying is that I’m team Jeremiah, and I’ve always been team Jeremiah. Maybe not even team Jeremiah, maybe it’s just team not Conrad. I don’t even think I’m Team Jeremiah, because frankly, she does not deserve him. Jeremiah gave her nothing but love and support and EMOTIONAL AVAILABILITY and REASSURANCE and ACTUALLY LIKES HER, and she just broke his heart because she wants to go after the unattainable Conrad whom she puts on a freaking pedestal. Like girl Conrad will probably never be with you or love you the way that you want him to, so just get over it. But you don’t get to come crawling back to Jeremiah, no ma’am.
Again, She’s just so boy obsessed that it’s pretty cringey. It’s just major “pick me” girl energy. And we know NOTHING ABOUT HER. Like her only personality trait is “I like Conrad” and I will destroy everyone and everything else to get him. Like we know nothing about her as a person.

Spoiler Just starting this by saying, I was always team Jeremiah. It broke my heart not having Susannah in this book, she was one of the best characters in book one.
I can’t quite figure Conrad out, he’s hard to pin down and maybe that’s why I like Jeremiah’s character better. Also team Laurel all day! I am a big fan of Jenny Han’s writing style generally. It’s always very easy to read and I finish her books quickly. I’m ready to finish up this series with the last book and find out what happens with Susannah’s boys!
