A great read. Very spooky and disturbing. I found that the action wasn’t spread out enough for me — it all happens at once at the end. I would recommend for a quick fictional journey.

I haven’t quite wrapped my head around this book yet but it’s good. Mexican Gothic is a super natural, horror, period thriller. It takes place in an isolated mansion in the country side of Mexico. Catalina marries an prominent rich Englishman named Virgil and moves into his mansion where he shares with his dad Harold, aunt Francis who is not very welcoming, and his cousin Francis. Catalina becomes sick with “Tuberculosis” and she is not allowed to leave her house so she writes to her father who sends her cousin Noemi. Noemi is a badass who doesn’t take any crap from anyone and has goals to get her masters degree. The rest you have to read for yourself bc it’s so crazy. Trigger warning there’s is incest, witchcraft, and lots of mention of snakes (gross).
