In my personal opinion, I don't really enjoy reading science books and that is what Firestarter mainly goes into. Also, they don't let you know whose POV is whose so you are just constantly confused trying to figure out who is talking and if they are in the past or not

3.5 Two college kids sign up to be a part of a new drug study, everything goes well until years later when they marry & give birth to their daughter Charlie. Charlie is a happy baby with one little hitch, she had the ability to start fires using her mind. The story follows Charlie on the run along with her father, Andy as they hide from those who want to exploit Charlies power for their benefit.

My first Stephen King book. Ha. I thought it was interesting, violent, and somewhat disturbing--that is what Stephen King is about, right? I had a hard time with chronology in this book. I wondered where I was planted in sequence of events at times (maybe due to listening to the audio version.)

Seriously conflicted about this book! I LOVED the ending felt like it was one of SK’s best... but for 3/4 of the book I just wanted it to OVER. lol

Great book!

Stephen never ceases to impress me with how well he can write characters slowly descending into madness.

I just wish we got to see more of young Andy and Vicky and the effects of Lot 6 on them.

Was good, but wished there would have been more on Charlie's mom...and more action with Charlie...seemed the novel focused more on her dad, Andy instead.
