Too much silly nonsense for me, but my 5 year absolutely loves this series. And all the content is wholesome with real life valuable lessons without being overly pedantic, as so much children’s literature is.

First book by this author and it was a hit with my daughter. She wanted to start the second book right away. We will be reading the rest of her books in the near future. I am sure she will reread them once she learns to read fully. I would recommend this book to other mothers who have littles that enjoy chapter books.

Was having a rough day and decided to step into the shoes of a kid again. Boy am I glad I did! The imagination, illustrations, and pacing work so well together. I laughed and reminisced about being a kid, and found myself looking forward to having kids to share this book with.

Since the main character is compared to Junie B. Jones, I expected so much more. Unfortunately, Dory/Rascal annoyed me and I didn't find her as endearing as I do Junie B.

I just finished reading this one with my almost 5 year old daughter. We both had a lot of giggles and conversations about "Rascal". My daughter loved it and keeps asking us to reread certain chapters (especially the bouncy-ball chapter).
