I think it was going for a "representation" angle, but it came across as borderline racist tbh.

Clearly written by an Anglo (no one in Spanish ends sentences with words like "jodido") the whole thing was supposed to tackle on... rape culture through "Marvel" like superheroes? Really? Such a dramatic real life struggle, and you go and make... what the fuck is this, lmao.

Anyway...awful writing, poor action drowned in dialogue, tone-deaf, yada yada yada, you get the point, it sucks.

little red riding hood meets the Mexican American boarder. definitely some cool ideas although vague in places, wish the character, story/plot and setting were clearer or more compelling. I liked the treatment of the human figures however desired more attention to the background/props of the world.

Omg I loved this.

Women are being hunted by coyotes...or men dressed as coyotes. And these women in a town aren't taking this too lightly. They fight back and it is amazing.

The artwork is spectacular and I just love it.

There was a lot going on here and I am not sure that I understood all of it. One of those books where the art was amazing and the story carried me along enough that I was compelled to keep reading. Curious to see where this goes in the next volume.

I'm not entirely sure what I just read. The best I can explain is if Gaiman, Tarantino, Daniel José Older, and Catherynne Valente wrote a really violent slasher about badass Hispanic monster slayers with revolutionary feminist tendencies. So.... yeah. 😂 (Really compelling read though. Recommend for my GN fans.)

DANG! This was great. Fantastical and feminist. I was intrigued by the premise, drawn in by the art, characters, and world-building. It's fast-paced, bloody, and mysterious. I dig it.
