Nice side-stories bundled together, but disappointingly short after reading the first three books

3.75; Nice short stories, I liked getting to know some of the character better and seeing their POVs.

The Queen - ⭐️ Amberly is great and this novella did not do her justice. She completely fangirled over Clarkson even though there was nothing redeeming about him.

The Prince - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cute. Would have liked Maxon’s POV from later on in the selection as well.

The Guard - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Aspen’s POV adds great depth to his motives and actions. Hands down the best character.

The Favorite - ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Scenes from Celeste - ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Maid - ⭐️⭐️ Lucy didn’t deserve to be Aspen’s second choice. No matter what he said, she clearly was. And I don’t believe the other maids would have shunned her for her romance with Aspen. I would have preferred more background on Lucy as opposed to her relationship with Aspen.

After The One - ⭐️⭐️ Cute but basic epilogue

Where are They Now? - ⭐️ Completely unnecessary. Didn’t even remember 3/4 of these characters.

All in all, no new information gained here. Just a nice feel-good compilation of novellas to extend your time in this fictional world.

Love this series. And I like how they told the back info on a lot of the characters.

I really enjoyed these short stories. They add a lot of depth and background to some of the characters we fell in love with during The Selection.

I'd read all of these before but in a different collection. I honestly wish on some of them we would've had more in depth stories/points of views (especially in Aspen's point of view). Maybe someday ala midnight sun?
