McFly have been my favorite band since I was 10. I saw them supporting Busted at Wembley Arena, and ever since have been totally addicted!
This book had me in tears. To read about all the struggles of my idols, the people who have helped me through everything, while all the while, they were dealing with depression, being diagnosed with psychological problems, everything. Now when I listen to certain albums and songs, I can really understand the words, it all makes sense now.
I feel that McFly have always been open with Galaxy Defenders about anything they can, but to read this book, it's made me realise there's a whole lot of stuff they couldn't tell us, until now. I feel like I know them at a whole new level now and can connect to them in ways I never could before.
It still has their crazy, gross humour in it too which I love about them, I'm proud to say I have a true piece of Danny, Harry, Tom and Dougie, that I can keep forever.

By far my favorite book and it always will be.

I didn't know it was possible for me to love this band and these four guys any more than I did.

Literal laughing out loud and eyes welling tears, I devoured their story and loved getting an inside glimpse into their lives and careers.

Does anyone else listen to McFly? It always shocks me when people don’t even know who they are. That’s definitely an oversight and you’re missing out if you’re unaware of them. Since I was already a fan I was unbelievably excited when their book came out in 2012. I read it in 2012 when I first got it and I’ve read a few more times since then. So this review is based on a recent re-read.

For those that are unaware, McFly is a band from the UK (and by band I mean they play instruments and the whole nine yards). I’m a huge fan, but have never seen them live. I own all of their CDs and 2 of their concert DVDs. I first came across them when I saw Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine. My initial thought was, “wow, they’re really good-looking, AND they have British accents (I’m a sucker for those)”. Then I looked them up and saw they were a real band. They pretty freaking awesome (outside of my shallow first assessment) and I was hooked.

Unsaid Things was an eye opener. I never knew nor would I have guessed anything they talked about in the book. All four guys were very candid about the good and the bad, which was really nice (whether I agreed with what they did or not). Some of it was a bit dark, but that humanized them and reminded you that they’re human too. I learned a lot about one of my favorite bands, but I also walked away with a realization that I probably should’ve come to on my own a long time ago. No one is perfect and no one expects you to be perfect. Great life lesson there.

I loved the format of the writing. Each guys section starts with their name and it’s kind of like you’re an observer to a conversation. It all stayed on track and was pretty fascinating, but I was impressed with how it managed to “capture the essence” of the guys. For the record, I hate that I just used the phrase capture the essence, but I couldn’t think of how else to phrase that. It’s very well-written and the introduction story is nothing short of hilarious (in a mildly vulgar way; you’ve been warned).

I’m sure you can guess by my heaps of praise for Unsaid Things that I would recommend it. If you’re already a fan of McFly, I think you’d find Unsaid Things very interesting. If you love reading biographies and memoirs, you too would get a kick out of Unsaid Things. If you’re still on the fence, I recommend checking McFly out on Youtube or iTunes and that will help you make the decision.

I have been a fan of McFly for quite some time now - and when I heard that they were going to release a book, I knew I had to get it. I usually don't read biographies because I generally don't like them - but I found this one to be a good read. I like how the book is written and how the members have their own sections and it is reminding me of conversations. The book is pretty much written like the members are having conversations with each other, just talking about what they've gone through. I really liked that.
This isn't the typical biography where there are mostly pictures and limited writing, this book actually has 300+ pages of writing and few sections with pictures which is very good. It certainly doesn't feel like I'm flipping through a picture book.
This has a bit of everything really, humor is a major part. If you are a fan of McFly, or used to be, I highly suggest that you get this book.

An Entertaining, laught out loud, touching, light read!

I loooved this book! McFly has been my favorite band since I was like 12, when my best friend and I discovered them. Through the year,
Initially, when the book came out, I thought it was one of those tipical celebrity/band books: written my a completely different person, published just for profits and with no content whatsoever. It turned out to be the very oposite.
Alternating the pov of the four members, the book really tells the story of the band. Starting from their childhood, and how they came to meet each other and started the band, and their trajectory, both individually and as a group.

I have been a fan of McFly's ever since I saw them in that little Lindsay Lohan movie "Just My Luck" and found out that they were a real band. Fast forward 6 years later, and I finally got to see them perform live at one of the two shows they did in the US.

This is one of my favorite bands around. They've never lied about who they are or come across as something else just for fame...and this book shows it. Written by all four members, this autobiography starts from the beginning and takes us through all the ups and downs of their fame. I'm not going to lie, I didn't know a lot about their personal lives so this book really opened my eyes. There were stories about heartbreak and hobnobbing with other celebrities, but there were also stories of family struggles, drug and alcohol abuse, mental disorders, depression, and suicide attempts.

I loved everything about this book. How candid and honest the guys were and it just made me love them more. A must read for all McFly fans.
