Fun story, though for some unknown reason I had a hard time keeping the characters straight. Some descriptions of blood and gore were more than I needed, but nothing over the top for a book about assasins.

I have never been more conscious of a book's writing as I'm reading it.... So much of the book is essentially: "We knew we had to make a plan. We made a plan. When we told her the plan, she agreed."
HUH? I get that mystery/thrillers have an audience, but really???

Maybe everyone else is here for the plot and I'm just a HATER, but you know what? I'm sitting under my Comp Lit degree, drinking my haterade, and feeling a little miffed that I can no longer enjoy anything for the plot. Probably wouldn't have finished it if I hadn't added it to a reading challenge, but I guess I learned this type of book is not my thing. (Also, for what it's worth, I did not particularly enjoy the plot either. But maybe that's a genre thing! I famously once gave Agatha Christie 3 stars... Though after reading this, I am inclined to go back and bump her up a bit.)

I really liked the book! Some reason though, i feel like it would’ve been better as a movie lmao

A fun thriller of a ride that explores the meaning of aging while also giving us a glimpse of what it must be like to be a professional assassin. I enjoyed all the little adventures and missions the group went on throughout the book and I thought the flashback chapters were really enlightening for the reader. Overall this was an easy read - so many aspects of it were  attention-grabbing and I had a great time thanks to the clever execution.

The description says Golden Girls meets James Bond, I think it’s more RED meets Kingsman and the Golden Girls. I was skeptical when I started this book because it was within the genre I normally read but not necessarily something I’d immediately choose. However I am extremely happy I read this. It’s an amazing book in my opinion and I can see myself and my sisters in the characters (minus the assassin part). The entire plot was believable based on the characters and background information. It wasn’t outlandish or had so many plot twists it was hard to keep up. Highly recommend.
