Good travel book! Future NY youth doing crazy things in a really excellently described tower. Romance, tech, mystery, all the good things

I loved this book but couldn’t of the police just tested eris’s alcohol level or whatever, I know there’s a test for these types of things.
Update: When I stumbled upon this book in Target, I loved the cover and its writing. Now, that I have considered all the thing, I’m sad that the book is not as great as I thought it was. I’m annoyed I spent so much time obsessing over this book when it was pretty problematic. This book had a lot of potential. It had much representation & for me it was one of the few times I saw a Asian character in a book after years of nonexistent diversity. But she was just given a bland romance plot. I’m still really sad they killed off Eris, she was a really good character.

Hot mess of soap opera characters. Way too many characters with full stories and not enough background of the tower or the future setting itself. All that was missing was a long lost twin. Gossip girl meets the future and unfortunately not in a good way.

📈: Plot was engaging. World building was tough at first but became more manageable as the book went on. I enjoyed the characters as a whole but favored a few storylines over the others.
🌶️: 1/5 Closed door but has multiple mentions within the plot. Nothing graphic

Honestly I don't know what to think. I liked this book but it was not at all what I thought it would be like. It reminds me of gossip girl. However, this world is so cool, but the plot so scattered. I wish there had been less POVs and more plot. But I love the world and some of the characters.
