Very simple picture book - rhyming text with sights and sounds of fall - 1 to 5 words per page (mostly 1-2 words)

2023 storytime theme: Babies - Fall

Reviewed from a library copy.

Hits just the right note for preschool and very early elementary about Fall. I like the interesting word choices: "winged migrators, hibernators.... bonfire builders, pie-crust fillers..."

This was another book I read in preparation for my fall storytime. This book is short with lots of vibrant pictures but not a lot of text. It works pretty well for my younger or antsier listeners. I wouldn't consider it the best book for the topic, but it is one I'm happy to have for those times I need something quick.

For: fall/harvest storytimes.

Possible red flags: references to Halloween and Thanksgiving, though not explicitly stated.

Fun rhyming account of who loves the fall (though the spelling bee participant looks anxious rather than delighted). Art is just average--though thank heavens for a multicultural cast plus animals--but text carries through and seems good for preschool storytime.

Very simple text and gorgeous illustrations. A great addition to a fall themed story time.
