Meh. Read once already

Too much dialogue and I got bored and started skimming and almost didn't finish it. I didn't connect with the characters at all.

I ended up skimming through the ending to this book - I was extremely frustrated with the heroine and actually a little bored. For a romance novel, this is actually a long and lengthy read. I haven't read the other books in the series, which could explain why I wasn't as attached to some of the side characters as I could've been.
dark emotional tense slow-paced
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: Yes

There is no possible way for a book in this genre not to be predictable so the quality of the book depends on how interesting the conflict is...this book had nearly none.

Putney does flip an old cliche in this one but in it she lost everything that made it interesting.

Sin duda alguna, es el mejor libro de los 3 de la serie, una historia de superaciĆ³n, de amor y aventura, que me ha tenido enganchada desde el principio.

This whole series is set later than I normally read, my favourite being the Regency period, but the setting, Colonial India, is so real, so vivid, that this didn't matter to me. I loved this book, my favourite in the series, but I loved the whole series as well.
